Experience Into Practice
Dawn Danella received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Rhode Island College in 2015 and her Master's Degree in Social Work from Boston University in 2017. Dawn's passion and commitment to the field of human services began when she attended a Leadership and Diversity Camp during high school. From that point on, she knew that she had found her path. Dawn has had many roles over the years which include providing sexual health and safer sex education in schools and via street outreach, direct support work with youth in group home settings, case management and substance use treatment for pregnant and postpartum women, counseling and supporting adult and children survivors of domestic violence in an emergency shelter, providing community based support for adults with long-term psychiatric conditions, and providing and supervising family therapy under an evidenced based model known as Family Centered Treatment. Dawn feels that all of these experiences have lead and prepared her to best support a wide range of people in the outpatient counseling setting.
In her free time, Dawn enjoys cooking and baking, organizing and home decor, camping, kayaking, and hiking trails with waterfalls, and binge watching Netflix!
